If you've been reading my blog since we launched a couple of weeks ago, then you know that I hang with a pretty fabulous crowd of creative people. In that same vein - quite literally - is close friend and artist Dave Cook.
The small selection you see below is drawn directly from the deep, dark? crevices of Dave's brilliant mind. Dave's magical drawings of dancing skulls and such are ironic and surprisingly upbeat. Reminiscent of Sol Lewitt, Dave uses multiple lines to compose a larger geometric image.
His attention to detail and sharp eye for color are what appeal to me most. I pay close attention to color and detail in the world around me and I think this is reflected in my designs. Dave's contrasting shades and intersecting lines are particularly inspiring to me - the way in which he juxtoposes color and shape is rad! Look for some of these great combos in upcoming designs.
